Here are a few tips!

SHAMPOOING
We bathe our aussies once a month. Giving baths more often can lead to dry skin and a dry coat. When showing, you may be required to bathe your dog more often. In that case, make sure you’re using a high quality dog shampoo.

BRUSHING

Brushing 1-2 times a week will help keep fur from matting and keep the dense under coat clean. When brushing, try not to irritate your dog’s skin.

QUICK TIP: If you blow your aussie out once a week you will notice a whole lot less hair around your home. We recommend getting a good blow dryer as it will help remove the dead hair from their coat — it’s very worth the investment.

NAILS
Nail trimming can be accomplished with clippers or a dremel tool. There are many videos to help you learn how to do this with the least amount of stress for both you and your dog. Short nails are much more comfortable for dogs, so please keep an eye on your dog’s nails.

PUPPY GROOMING TRAINING
We highly recommend you begin working with your puppy as soon as they arrive home — they will catch onto things sooner than you’d think.

Before your puppy leaves our home, they will have their nails trimmed — we do this every Sunday from birth. They will have had baths and a full blow out. We use a grooming table and professional tools, so your Aussie will be off to a great start.
